FAQ

What can i do with MDR-5?

You can use USB flash memory as registration data writing, reading, recording and play instead of Floppy disk.

However MDR-5 is MIDI machine. There is limited function compare to original EL's MDR.

For example,

1. It takes time to read data so sometimes " next registration function" is not able to record and play properly.

2. MDR -5 is not able to record as read voice(separate record), also can not do keyboard percussion part record.

3. MDR-5 is not able to punch in record.

4. MDR-5 is not able to writing and reading for edited VA custom voice.

5. MDR-5 is not able to copy and delete the XG song.

6. MDR-5 has no function as following "Next song" "Next song plus" "Disk copy"

Please note

MDR-5 can not read registration data for STAGEA and that you made in STAGEA.

How can i use my EL floppy disk at MDR-5?

You will need to convert your FD to USB flash memory.

How can i convert my EL floppy disk to USB floppy disk?

You can convert your FD to USB flash memory through STAGEA(Standard ,Custom Professional model) which has floppy disk drive(UD-FD01)

But there is limited functions and depends on the registration data.

Please note

If you have own made EL floppy disk data you can convert at your EL Electone with MDR-5.
