Carefully selected leather pads ensure easy breath flow, producing a soft sound without stress. The pads prevent vibration-related noise (pad noise) and provide a high level of airtightness, directing the breath straight through the bell for a soft sound that carries far.

The barrel, upper joint, lower joint, and bell are made from specially selected wood, ensuring consistent quality and sound. The surface is coated with natural varnish to enhance the wood's resonance and maintain a refined visual appearance.

The pear-shaped barrel increases resistance, offering better response, flexibility, and a focused tone. The inner diameter combines a narrow taper with a straight section, providing a rich, responsive sound. Yamaha's unique engraving inside the bell stabilizes the pitch of the B note (for B♭ clarinets only).

Features an adjustable thumb rest with a strap ring, allowing for easy adjustment to prevent thumb pain and fatigue. This makes it suitable for players with small hands and allows for adjustments as the player grows or improves. A strap can also be attached for additional support.

The left-hand F/C lever features an adjustable screw mechanism for accurate key return and stable left-hand operation, improving touch and reducing wear for long-term maintenance of optimal performance.

Longer E/B levers and C#/G# keys prevent finger slipping and reduce touch errors, featuring a shape that fits well with the fingers. The E♭/B♭ and F#/C# trill keys are designed to fit the fingers smoothly, enhancing both playability and aesthetics. (Key: A model only)
