Just in case you have another custumer in Argentina, I want to tell you some tips:
- The door to door system is allowed for books (no custom duties nor VAT is payed) BUT
- The value of the books must be less than USD 200 AND
- The weight less than 2kg
Is any of these conditions are not satisfied, the buyer must go to the custom office to recieve the books. My experience:
- USD 290 aprox
- 2.026kg
- 4 days JAP/ARG deliver
- One week at customs ( I went the first day the books were available)
- I have waited 3 hours at customs office (3 HOURS!!!!!)
Next time, I will be more cautious not to exceed value and weight. As bottomline, if value is less than USD 200 and weight less than 2kg, the customs may retain as well the box, but it is not mandatory nor usual.
